I am way behind on my blog postings and I have DJ'ed so many weddings this summer, 2010 season, that haven't been posted on the blog...and that is likely due to my concentrating on my wedding photography business.

I started shooting weddings this year, flexing my long-time hobby of photography and it has been so amazing. I truly found what I want to do professionally for the rest of my life, be a wedding photographer!

So everyone thinks that DJing is super cool, and it is totally a lot of fun. But in many ways it is fleeting, it is a moment in time, an exhilarating one, that makes or breaks the party. Capturing images of this special day - now those live on forever.

Photography stops time, it captures the memory, the real love between real people, the moments when it all happened. These images are how people hold onto the feeling, that was once fleeting but now forever preserved by the camera. To me, this is the special stuff. This is personal, and I totally respect the important of the DJ on the wedding day, because having DJ'ed a million weddings, I know the role of the DJ. I just want to fill some different shoes at the wedding, and I am so happy to call myself a professional photographer.

I am a member of the WPJA and the Artistic Guild of the WPJA. I have some blog features coming up down the road and I am really excited that things are going well. Cheri and Kristy's Wedding - Hamilton Hall - Salem

This is what happens when you wait forever to blog - you remember things, but this would have been a better posting if I had done it close to the actual wedding....this was my first time at Hamilton Hall and I really enjoyed this venue...not the stairs (there is no elevator), but this was still a great venue, especially in the fall weather.

Cheri and Kristy were awesome to work with and this was really a great wedding. Kristy actually did a lot of the design of the items you see in these images - lots of DIY stuff at this wedding that looked totally great. I have another wedding at Hamilton Hall this September and I am really looking forward to being at this venue again.

The photographer was Margaret Singer, and I am not sure about the caterer? Go figure, the caterer was completely awesome too...great food!

GLAD Awards Dinner - Boston Copley Marriott

This was my first year working the GLAD Awards dinner and I was really excited that they invited me to be their DJ for the evening. And, thank you to Robbie Samuels, their hard working events coordinator! The event took place at the Boston Copley Marriott. What an amazing organization, and so many amazing individuals were at this event....and afterwards there was an awesome dance party with some awesome music!

I am sure that people wonder why I don't have that many photos of people actually dancing in my blog postings. Truth is that I am usually working too hard to take a moment and take the camera out (or iphone camera)! In this case - pictures of lots and lots of tables and the nice screens!

Kareem & Sarah's Wedding - Glastonbury Hills Country Club CT

I haven't blogged forever, and the truth is that I am so behind - I still have weddings from 2009 that I want to blog about. Crazy, I know!

Here are some photos from Sarah and Kareem's fall wedding at Glastonbury Hills Country Club. This was one of those crazy October weekends were it actually snowed! It was freezing out this day and it was snowing a little bit, so wild!

Chris and Kristen's Wedding [Private Residence, Bedford]

During October I was excited to DJ the wedding of Chris and Kristen. Chris Hansen owns Essential Bodywork and Massage in Lexington and founded the Boston Gay Women's Meetup Group. The ceremony and reception took place at a private residence in Bedford and it was a just breath taking. They had the most amazing fall day - and the leaves were changing and truly, it was so pretty!

Bernadette from It's About Time - NOW newly named 14 Stories - was the amazing wedding planner of the day. She did an amazing job as always - if you've read my other blog postings you know that I just love working with her...and even was the DJ at her wedding this past July.

The photographer was Susan R. Symonds from Infinity Portrait and Design who I had the pleasure of meeting for the first time. The caterer was Boston's Above and Beyond Catering who Bernadette says she swears by.....so that should be a hint that they are good at what they do!

And...the tent was a really nice one - I think that it was by Sperry Tents....but I have to say it was one of the fanciest ones I have been in yet....with the nice wooden pools and awesome light fixtures...really spiffy!

AND - the porta-potty was a FANCY trailer that was nothing like any porta-potty you've ever seen. It was more akin to something you'd experience on a movie set. Seriously, it was a trailer, you walk in and the bathroom was like any bathroom you'd visit in a hotel with fancy fixtures, candles, etc..

I had a great time at this wedding - friends and family were awesome and ready to dance and that just makes things awesome! Here are some pictures below so you can check it out for yourself....

Kristin & Alex @ Weston Golf Club

Any time you have a bride that shares the same name as you....it's going to be a great night!

First thing I need to say is that Suzanne from Green Olive Catering hooked me up with Kristin, her cousin. I've worked with Suzanne a few times - and I LOVE her and her food. Seriously, she is a kick ass caterer if you are in the market for one! Kristin has worked in the catering world in the past, and seen many of weddings - and it was an absolutely pleasure to work with her. She had a clear vision and I knew how to execute!

So, I was the DJ at the cocktail hour and the reception at the Weston Golf Club. I really liked this venue, a lot. And Michelle Hapgood, their venue organizer/manager did an awesome job of making sure the evening flowed the way it needed to. As a DJ, it's great when you can work with someone that cares about the evening as much as you do and Michelle did indeed care about all the details and making sure the night went the way it was supposed to. Thanks Michelle!

The venue - I have to give props to the venue, check out the pictures below. The place was really nice, but it only holds about 100 or less for dinner, so it's best for smaller weddings. And they actually do burn a fire in the fire place, it was sooooo cozy!

Shout out to one of my favorite photographers - Kelly from Closed Circle Photography who took some great pictures that night. I LOVE working with Kelly and I am glad that I was able to recommend her to this awesome couple!

Jessica & Pam's Wedding - Boston Hyatt

Okay, so I am overly ambitious when it comes to a lot of things in my life. I had this aching need to get my new DJ blog up and going and it just hasn't happened yet. I was originally waiting to post all my fall weddings in that new blog....

Since that didn't happen, I am going to do my post now....stay tuned for a new blog at some point in the future - AS WELL AS a snazzy new website!

Here we go -- Jessica and Pam's wedding at the Boston Hyatt in September was AWESOME! I helped provide music for their ceremony and we sort of got off to a late start because traffic was holding up the officiant (as well as guests). But the wait was worth it because this was a fabulous wedding!

Lots of dancing, lots of love and just an awesome night all around. I have to say that the Hyatt staff was amazing, like SUPER amazing. I work at a lot of venues, and I went so far as to shoot an email to one of their managers just to let them know that they did a good job! They were just on top of things and that is really great to see when you are paying a venue a super amount of money for one of the most important days of your life!

Shout out to photographer Helene Norton-Russell who was great to work with. Definitely go and take a look at her work, she was top notch!

I have pictures - via iPhone - of the table settings, a REALLY cool cake, my set-up for the night (they had this wild spandex table cover they put on there), and just a room shot.

Ryan and Alicia @ Truro Vineyards

It has been such a LONG time since a blog post, and there have been some weddings I have missed in between...but alas, here's a little something I did this past weekend. I was the DJ at Ryan and Alicia's wedding at Truro Vineyards. It rocked just as much as Ryan and Alicia do and I was so happy to be a part of it. Despite being a bit chilly - energy was sky high and we ended with Islands in the Stream. It was soooo perfect!

Props go out to Connie from The Perfect Plan. She was the wedding coordinator and she was fab. Seriously, she has a ton of experience and it was a PLEASURE working with her. So, if you are doing a wedding on Cape Cod, check her out...

And thanks goes out to my friend Elisa who let Maarit and I stay in her condo in Provincetown for the weekend. Greatly appreciated!

I LOVED their cake and think that I might have to figure out how to model our cake after this. It was Rock, it was vintage tattoo, it was simple and classic. Love it!

Now Offering iPod Sound System Rental

As I have been planning for my own wedding and reading various message boards such as indiebride and offbeat bride, and even weddingwire, I am seeing more and more couples that want to forgo a DJ and turn to their iPods for entertainment on their wedding day. As a self proclaimed music snob, I can totally understand this approach. Not only do you save some money, but you are in COMPLETE control. As a wedding DJ, I do play all of my clients "must play" songs, but I do know that there are many DJ's out there that just do their own thing....

Anyway, back on topic. So, this post is about a new service offering, an iPod Sound System - Speaker rental. There's nobody in the Boston area offering this type of straightforward service, and I am not quite sure why. I was looking for a similar service for my wedding - which is going to be in Miami, and I couldn't find something like this there either.....but it is totally needed. I really think it is because most DJ's are threatened that iPods are TAKING away their business. Hey, to each their own.....

The deal - for a $400 rental fee - I deliver a complete sound system to your venue one hour prior to event start time. I set up the sound system which is 2 speakers with stands, 1 subwoofer, a 4 channel audio mixer, a microphone with a stand, and a dock for your ipod (with remote control) that plugs right into the audio mixer and charges your ipod at the same time. I also include easy instructions, hands on lesson to a designated guest, and my cell phone number in the RARE instance that you have a problem. At the end of your event, I come back and pack everything up. You don't have to think about a thing.....pretty cool stuff.

July 11th - Laura and Taylor @ Tower Hill Botanic Garden

Tower Hill Botanic Garden -- wow, this place was so cool. The ceremony, which I was not a part of, was in the Secret Garden. Not sure where that was.....and the reception was in the Orangerie which was just so cool.

Laura and Talor were really fun to work with and I am really excited that they hired me to be their DJ for the evening! Friends and family were fab and the staff at Tower Hill, especially Alexandra were super at their jobs.

The caterer was Tastings Caterer and the dinner was seated. I didn't eat any of the food, so I can't attest to that - but I can attest to the fact that this was the fastest, smoothest delivery of a sit down dinner I have seen in a while at a venue like this. So, props to them!

Photographer was Dom Miguel and his wife.

Here are the pictures -- this was the Orangerie, reception location. I loved the brown and coral/pink colors that they brought together. It looked great.

Check out this place -- and there was a thunderstorm later in the evening. Seeing the lightening across the sky through the glass roof was unbelievable!

This was my vantage point. I had my own little nook, which was sort of nice. Loved the load into this place - I was able to drive my car right up to a door, wheel a cart full of stuff in, fabulously pain free! Not like having to get myself up four flights of stairs, that's a DJ's nightmare!

July 3rd - Bernadette and Jen - Exchange Conference Center

Bernadette and Jen had me as their DJ - which is a huge compliment. Bernadette is the President/Owner of It's About Time Weddings. She is highly respected as an event planner, and having worked with her before, I know that she is spectacular at what she does. When I am the DJ at an event, and I know that she is coordinating, I am at complete ease.

I can't emphasize enough the importance of having at least a "day-of" coordinator for your event. There are just so many moving parts, and when you have someone professional, like Bernadette by your side, you know that your day will be EXACTLY as you imagined it would be, without having to be stressed out or thinking about other things! Check out her website, read her blog, and learn what you need to as yo plan your wedding day...

Ok - back to her wedding day. It was awesome - again, storms were forecasted, but the rain stayed away. The Exchange Conference Center is a truly amazing venue. Even though this was my first time there - I rank it up there as my favorite. It is right on the water, easy to get to, lots of free parking, the room is amazing, the staff was awesome, and I think I could keep going....

So....at the wedding we had an appearance by Mizery, one of the area's favorite drag queens, and well, lots of party people! Remember Meghan and John from my NYE wedding, well they were there, Jen is their cousin. And...Meghan's dad Michael was there and he was a true party animal, dancing his bootie off to Boom Boom Pow. The wedding was great - and I am flattered that Bernadette wanted me to be a part of it!

Here are some pictures. This first one Maarit snapped from a little balcony. The uplighting looked really cool in this space. It was done by Boston Uplights.

And - Jen created all the flower centerpieces and accesories. It's About Time just added Floral Design Services to their offerings and Jen is a truly gifted designer. So, if you are looking for flowers for your wedding, or any event, definitely call on Jen to do the job!

This was the set-up for the ceremony, which took place in the same room. The officiant was Cindy Matchett, from Meaningful Weddings. We have worked together several times and she is GREAT! She is well organized -- which is always something I like to see - and she really just cares and does a great job. If you are looking for an officiant, look no further, Cindy is really cool.

June 20th - Jenn and Jenn - Essex Conference Center

Jenn and Jenn at the Essex Conference Center -- I loved working with these two, and truly, this was a great wedding experience.

I provided sound for their Ceremony, Cocktail hour, and then the actual Wedding Reception. Yet again, it was supposed to rain on this day -- but it didn't! It was a beautiful day!

As always, the folks at the Essex Conference Center were great, and this place as usual, was just so beautiful. The grounds are so great here - and there's just this feel good thing they have going on.....oh, I should note that the Jenns asked all guests (and the DJ) to wear a Life is Good shirt. I happily wore my Life is Good shirt, so that was really cool!

This was the first time I worked with Kelly from Closed Circle Photography. It was a pleasure finally meeting her since I heard so many great things about her. We just did Bernadette and Jen's wedding together, and have a few more together over the next year as well.

This first picture is what I used for the Ceremony and Cocktail hour. I had it set up out on the grounds, as they have electricity boxes scattered around, which is really great. The sound was perfect.

This is the set-up without the facade. On one hand it's nice, you get to see the equipment...on the other hand -- it's hard with the wires. I don't like wires sitting around, I like a neat and clean look. So - most of the time at Weddings, I will use my black facade -- but on this day, I just decided to go with the natural look....which looks cool as well...

It had been really wet from the rains the day before. I set up my speakers on the dance floor which worked out perfectly.

Katrin's House Party - Cambridge

I almost forgot about this one. Back in March I was the DJ at the Fenway Women's Dinner Event. That was a great experience - and I had donated my DJing services in the silent auction.

Katrin was nice enough to purchase the package I was involved in, and so in the beginning of June, I went to her Loft in Cambridge to DJ!

The event was fab - and Katrin, thanks for your generousity and your donation to Fenway!

June 19th - Jackie and Chris - Lyman Estate

My first time at the Lyman Estate and there was a huge downpour right when I arrived! What was going on with the weather in the month of June? Well, the sun did come out just in time for the cocktail hour....so Jackie was thrilled!

This was a fun group of people - and a classy venue. My highlight, playing one of my favorites, Papa Loves Mambo and seeing Jackie and Chris show off some of their dance moves!

June 13th - Ella and Josh - Smith Barn in Peabody

Ella and Josh had an AWESOME wedding at Smith Barn on June 13th. They headed up here all the way from Brooklyn! [Brooklyn....We go Hard, we go Hard....a little bit of Jay-Z, little bit of Biggie, it was all good....]

It was supposed to rain - but heck, it never did and the weather was just gorgeous. It was my first time at the venue, and it was great. Wedding was great, friends and family were ready to party and the dance floor was packed until the end of the night.

Photographer was Dana Giuliana who seemed like a cool guy.

The caterer was one of MY FAVORITES who I LOVE working with - Green Olive Catering out of Woburn. Suzanne, the owner makes the freshest, best food I have eaten, and she does a great job of being on top of things. Seriously, this is one of the best I have worked with. Throughout the evening you can see her paying attention to every little detail, even asking parents and grandparents, as well as Brides/Grooms of course, if they are enjoying their meals. She also coordinates with the DJ to make sure the flow to the evening is pinned down exactly where it needs to be in terms of food coordination. Oh, and her staff is great too -- seriously, this is one of the best companies I have worked along side.

Anyway -- it was nice meeting Ella and Josh, and being involved in their wedding as the DJ -- just an all around great wedding experience.

Jamaica Plain BOSTON PRIDE BLOCK PARTY 2009

The Boston Pride Committee's 4th Annual Women's Block Party this year was awesome (Sunday, June 14th) year as the DJ and each year this party gets better and better....just when you think, how can it??? DJ Jodi joined me this year and opened things up, check out her tea dances she has in Maine and New Hampshire. It was nice meeting her - definitely a cool DJ. Big thanks to MJ Audio, Myrna Johnston Crew, as usual, for the great sound support.

Dykenight Unity Cruise around Boston Harbor

I am so way behind in posting -- but here it goes. I kicked off Boston Pride 2009 week with an event called the Unity At Seat Cruise. Kristen Porter of Dykenight fame recruited me to be her DJ for a sunset cruise around the Boston Harbor on the New Boston, a boat from MassBay Lines. Big thanks to Noel Moran, the account manager over there for putting up with all of my questions, since this was my first DJing experience on a Boat!

Anyway, the cruise SOLD OUT and Kristen scheduled another one for August 2nd, and DJ Inkognito will be on that one. You can find me on the September 13th cruise, so keep your eyes open for more information!

Oh, and thanks to my peeps - Maarit, Erika, Kelli and Geetha for sailing with me!

This is the newer set up that pumps a TON of bass out. I have the 10" JBL Eon Tops and then on the bottom, I have two JBL subs pumping the bass. This set-up was PERFECT for this boat full of 300 people ready to dance and party!

Kathleen & Jonathan's Wedding at the Seapoint

I am so glad that I met Kathleen and Jonathan, and that they hired me as their DJ. This was a great wedding - and these people know how to party!

Also, I had the chance to check out the Seapoint Restaurant in South Boston. Neat place!

Iphone pictures, and I wasn't able to get as many as I would have liked, especially when it was later in the evening and the party lights came on - and Kathleen handed out her glow sticks!

Kat just sent me a picture that was taken of me at their wedding -- someone really got me in action, and having a good time!

Gina & Sarah's Wedding @ The Oceanview in Nahant

My first time at the Oceanview in Nahant - like it there a lot. The view is awesome. Gina and Sarah were married in a gazebo on the hill, very beautiful, and then headed back down to the Oceanview for cocktail hour and the reception.

My old neighbor, Michael Gallant, from Perfect Parties used to talk about this place, apparently he DJ's a TON of weddings there! Lucky Mike -- this is definitely close to home for me, so I welcome more gigs at this joint!

Erika & Lisa's Wedding @ Hotel Marlowe

I LOVE the Hotel Marlowe and though I have been there many times, and even stayed there (Maarit's treat for my 32 Birthday), I have NEVER had a DJ gig there. This was my first DJ gig there, and I loved it! Oh, and this wedding, on May 16th, was the kick-off to my official season!

Staff was friendly, service was great can't wait to be hired for another wedding!

And PHOTO FUN BOX was at this one again - so we talked with Austin a bit. Glad to hear that business is going so well! And as always, his photo booth was a huge success, and as I think I have said before, it is ONE of the BEST I have seen : )

Margaret Singer's ANTI-Valentines Party

Fenway Women's Dinner Event 2009

On March 14th it was a pleasure to be the DJ for the Fenway Women's Dinner Event. Mayor Menino, Dr. Susan Love, Lily Tomlin, Kate Clinton, Governor Deval Patrick and his daughter, and many others were a part of this special night of fundraising.

This was my donation for the silent auction, a night of DJing! I am going to be performing at the auction winner's house on Friday, June 5th, and I think that it will be a blast! Thanks for bidding on me!

And the dancing was crazy -- tons of women on the dance floor, it was a success! I even had dancers on boxes on each side of me up there on the stage.... yes, in the picture below, that's me, all the way at the front of the room on the stage, you can't really see me that well, but I am there..

Amy & Jerry's Wedding - January 24th

It has been a long time since I have posted, I've been taking a little bit of downtime before wedding season ramped up again. But, I want to give props to my friend Amy (and new husband Jerry). They were married on January 24th and the reception took place at the Salem Moose Family Center.

It was TONS of fun, Maarit and I had a great time and she got the chance to meet a bunch of co-workers. Thanks for having me as your DJ Amy!!!

Meaghan & John - NYE Wedding at the Westin

New Year, new post. These pics were from my New Year's Eve wedding. John amd Meaghan were awesome to work with and the night was a TON of fun!

The reception took place at the Westin in Waltham and it seemed like most people braved the crazy snow storm that we had during the early evening because I counted well over 200 people!

So...MJ loving, JT crazing John is pictured in party mode above, and then check out Meaghan in party mode below....heck, they just got MARRIED and what better way to start the New Year!

I played it all, Rihanna, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Flo-rida, Akon, The Pussycat Dolls, The Temptations, ABBA, Jackson 5, The B-52's, Journey, Cyndi Lauper, AC/DC, Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, and the list goes on and on and on, a great soundtrack to bring in the new year!

Maarit and I took a minute towards the end of the night to get our photo snapped in the really cool photo booth so that we could send Meaghan and John some well wishes for their scrapbook.

This is one of the coolest photo booths I have seen and I have to get their contact info and put it on my blog!! For right now, I can tell you that it is a couple that lives in Salem and the husband made the wooden photo booth himself. I have seen a good amount of photo booths this past year, and this was the coolest.

4, 3, 2, 1.....Happy New Year!!! Yes, everyone is staring up at me who is doing the countdown, seems sort of anti-climatic compared to a huge ball made of crystal slowly dropping in Times Square -- but NO, that's not the case, everyone is just pumped for Meaghan and John....and the New Year....and I just happen to be the person in charge of letting everyone know it is officially 2009!

Meaghan and John's first dance picture is below, and boy, did they have great taste in music - first dance was Shelter by Ray Lamontagne who is awesome.

Also - a big shout out to Meaghan's dad, Michael, a great Irishman whom it was a pleasure working with! I've never seen anyone do a better rendition to Paradise By the Dashboard Light (along with his wife of course), lots of good fun.

CSN Stores Holiday Party - Seaport World Trade Center

A blast, as usual. Last year I was their DJ at the Boston Children's Museum. That was an interesting night, with about 700 people crammed into the museum's main spaces....the fire alarm even went off halfway through the evening and the place was evacuated....but they all came back and the party continued.

This year the party was at the Seaport World Trade Center in the Commonwealth room, things were great. There was ample space (44,000 sq. feet I think) for the 700 or so employees - mostly all under the age of 30 and it was a heck of a party. LOUD and with awesome energy and over 400 people on the dance floor...a DJ's favorite kind of gig.

Some iphone pictures from before the evening started. Wish I had a better (real) camera with me - at one point there were about 60 people on stage dancing around me. Security came up with concerns that I was being a bit bombarded and whether or not the stage would hold....like I said, this is the fun stuff folks!

Laurie & Ellie's Wedding - Warren Conference Center

Laurie and Ellie's Wedding took place on October 25th at the Warren Conference Center in Ashland. I had been here for a retreat a long time ago (few years ago) on my first day of graduate school at Northeastern. Northeastern University owns the property - nice place, great staff.

Ok - back to the wedding itself. It was a BLAST! Laurie and Ellie are such a great couple - they both met during their first year at Tufts - great story. Their friends and family were so great, the energy was so good. It is funny - Laurie said that she didn't know if people would really dance that much. I have to admit - that every time a client says that - I am determined to prove them wrong - and every time - I DO prove them wrong. Can't tell you how many times this has happened.

Their guests danced the night away - all the way until the end. It was a great mix of stuff like Journey, Michael Jackson, Snoop Dogg, Robert Palmer, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Flo-rida, Dore Straits, Def Lepard and the list goes on and on and on....lots of dancing, lots of fun!

Their photography was great - thanks for the pictures above and below Brittany Blando of BKB Photography. She took soooo many great shots!

She has even told me that there is going to be a spread in La Bella Bride Magazine so I have to keep my eyes open! I think that is super cool that a wedding involving two women (or a gay marriage) is going to be in one of the major bridal magazines....

The Ceremony was in Sherborn - at the Universalist Church, really great ceremony. Reverend Nathan Detering was SUPER great. I admit - the ceremony definitely caused me to shed some tears, it was everything I want my wedding ceremony to be.

I played their recessional song which was Melissa Ferrick - Everything I Need -- and it was SO great. I seriously think I might want that for my recessional if I can't get a Gospel Choir : )

Geeze - as I am doing these posts, soooo after the fact, I am noticing ALL of the weddings I failed to take some pictures at. Very upsetting as there were so many beautiful ones this summer! I think that having this blog is going to insure that I DO take pictures at each and every wedding going forward!

Liza & Franco - Harrington Farms

Liza and Franco's wedding at Harrington Farms in Princeton, MA. Nice venue, I was here as a guest once - but this was my first time as a DJ. They came up from South Carolina, which is where they are living. So - guests and family were from all over at this wedding!

Liza's family is from New England - and Franco's Family is from Florida and Columbia. They wanted a little bit of latin flavor thrown in, but were a bit concerned about how the 70% of American ethnicity guests would react. The latin was a HUGE success (Salsa, columbia, merengue, tropical, bachata, reggaeton, you name it), lots of energy, lots of fun, an awesome night!

Their cocktail music was a blast too - they wanted a bit of alternative stuff mixed in there (Sufjan Stevens, Sleater-Kinney, Spoon, Yo La Tengo, Pinback, Pernice Brothers, etc.). I mixed that stuff in with some classics as well as a little Thievery Corporation and Nouvelle Vague. Worked out perfect!

Patti & Lynne's Wedding - Camp Naumkeag - Salem

A very informal wedding BBQ at Camp Naumkeag in Salem Willows for Patti and Lynne. This couple heard me at a Stephie Vee/Ovah 40 Dance in August at the Son's of Italy and wanted me to DJ their wedding. It worked out and Maarit and I joined them at the Camp.

This was a great day - lots of fun and LOTS of food and drink. Patti and Lynne are AWESOME people. Seriously, you can't do anything but smile when you talk to Patti, she has the biggest spirit : ) I was happy to be a part of their special day!

Shannon & Shawna's Wedding - August 16th - Cooper Hill Inn

A long time friend - long time member of the Boston Pride Committee - Shannon married Shawna at the Cooper Hill Inn up in Vermont. It wasn't far from Mt. Snow (that's were we stayed for the night). The owners were great, and even asked if I would ever make the trip back out there!

Shannon and Shawna are out in Arizona now - living up in their nice new house. Shannon is back at school and Shawna is at her new job - I wish you both the best!

Big thanks to Maarit for joining me on this one. Definitely a great party with lots of familiar faces which is always nice. We drove up to Vermont on Saturday morning - and spent the night, allowing us to enjoy a little bit of Vermont on Sunday!

Boston Cares - Fenway Park Event

** This would be the point I should say that I had a bunch of weddings in June and July and August and no pictures to show for it.....so no postings - maybe I can figure out some way to post and give props to those couples and people I worked with.....

Boston Cares had a fundraising event at Fenway Park on August 21st (just a few days before the big Neil Diamond Concert). Bernadette from It's About Time Weddings coordinated the whole event and did an awesome job (as usual). For those of you that don't know - her planning skills are just for weddings - she coordinates lots and lots of other stuff.

An awesome night out at the State Street Pavilion in Fenway Park. I had a blast - lots of fun, summer like baseball music that you never get tired of - like Dire Straits, Jimmy Buffet, J. Geils Band, John Cougar Mellancamp, Bruce Springsteen (being that I am from NJ he's one of my favorites) and those tunes that just scream hot summer fun at the ball park : )

Boston Pride 2008

Pride - June was a fun month, next we had Pride. I performed the main stage at Government Center on Saturday - that was a good time....thank you Boston Pride Committee, you all work so hard [any one hear me commenting about this 1 in 10 on WFNX, I gave you props].

Ok - onto Sunday - I was at the 4th Annual JP (Jamaica Plain) Women's Block Party. This was also my 4th year DJing it.....and as usual, it rocked. Tons of people - tons of great music....Here are some of my girls - Maarit (my fiance), Kelli, Erika and Geetha.

Not sure how many people they had.....it rained that morning - so there WOULD have even been more than this. I think we had like 1200 last year....crazy and awesome!

And yeah - this is where they put me....great view. The only bad thing is that this thing sways and moves which can be hard to get used to. But...it's worth the view!

Adam & Kate - June 7th @ Camp Bournedale

OK --- Kate and Adam - what an awesome couple. You know - it may seem that I say that about so many of my clients, but I am really blessed. I repeatedly attract and get to work with the coolest of clients. And - since I only do about 1 wedding most weekends - I actually get a chance to get to know them!! It's really great stuff to be involved in the planning - and then see it all come to fruition on the wedding day!

Ok - back to June 7th at Camp Bournedale in Plymouth. Great place - lots of fun. Awesome ceremony with a gospel choir - oh, and great decorators - they did wonders to the gym and the main venue....

And - the photographer, Carla Ten Eyck is the most amazing photographer (I am hiring her for my own wedding in 2010). Really - these pictures below - they are all hers - check out her website at www.carlateneyck.com.

Ciara and Deb's Wedding - May 25th - Hampshire House

Ok - first wedding of the season, May 25th - Ciara and Deb at the Hampshire House on the Boston Common. Otherwise known as the address of Cheers. My first time there, a neat space.

Ceremony was great - Cindy Matchett from Meaningful Weddings was the wedding celebrant/interfaith minister. It was a really special ceremony, and Cindy did a great job.

The festivities were brilliant - lots of nice family and friends dancing it up on the floor. An awesome celebration for two people that I enjoyed working with very much. I am glad that Ciara and Deb kicked off my wedding season for me!

Paula & Barby's Engagment Party

Ok this was a year ago - am I still technically allowed to post this in my new blog?

Salvatore's (Sal's Pizza) in Lawrence. Newer venue in a renovated Mill Building along the Lawrence River....pretty cool place. It was Paula and Barby's engagement party and they were super awesome to work with. I had so much fun with their friends and family at the party that I was upset I was unavailable to DJ their summer wedding in Provincetown!!!

Thanks for having me - it was a lot of fun (as you can tell since I am still remembering it from last year)!

I have been talking about getting a blog for a long, long time. Just like I have been talking about remembering to bring my camera to each and every wedding I DJ....talk, talk, talk.
